I'm not a particularly good person - I'm pro-death penalty, pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia, and in favor of draconic penal policy so my take is heavily biased. But I'm almost sure the main reason is just mild sentencing.
In some cases, I can almost understand how it happens - an attractive female, an entitled male, and sh*t goes down. (N.B. Understanding how something happens isn't an endorsement, nor an argument for milder sentencing.) But lunatics who target kids or the elderly? The harshest sentence imaginable.
It starts with early education: make it crystal clear that this is never tolerated. And repeat the basic truth until everyone gets it: rape isn't about sex. It's about power, domination, and raw brutality.

I agree that there should be zero tolerance for sexual violence. Education, accountability, and consistent enforcement of the law all have to work together if we want to reduce these crimes.

This is truly heartbreaking. I can't imagine the pain of the victim and their family. We need stronger action, better parenting, and more respect for others to help prevent such crimes. I hope we all work together to build a safer society for everyone.
