I know the publication wants to put an Ai spin on this to get clicks and all, but I'm wondering more about what it means for free will. If your brain makes decisions before you know about the decision, and then isn't your inner voice just telling you the story about how the decision came about and more or less just justifying the decision after the fact.
This actually fits what I've thought about free will and cause and effect for quite sometime. Everything in this universe has is a linear cause and effect line, but somehow we have brains that just randomly decide things without being cause and effectively forcing the decision? Just doesn't make sense to me how a deterministic universe has any room for free will.
