Nope, not just you.... It really did feel much hotter this year. Climate change is making heatwaves more frequent and more intense, so summers like this are becoming more common.
On average, over the 50 years I can remember, this summer is easily in the top five around here in Serbia.
Of course - I'm older, and much less healthy (cardiovascular and neurological problems, diabetes...), so that certainly adds a bit to the subjective feel. But pure meteorological data definitely supports that it's a brutal summer, albeit not the absolute hottest - not even with record daily temperatures at local weather stations.
N.B. The actual record-breakers for Serbia over the last 50 years were 2024, 2025, and 2012.
N.B. I measure the brutality of a summer by the number of days I need to turn on the AC. Usually, it's ~15 days per year. This summer is already on par with the previous two (21+ days), but it's only the beginning of August and the main heatwave is still ahead (the absolute peak for this year should be August 5th/6th as per prognosis). So...
