I listened to Chris Kalaboukis talk with inventor Gilbert Bouchard on the @thinkfuture podcast, and the idea behind his invention is genuinely fascinating.
Gilbert spent decades experimenting with sound and vibration before developing the Waiver Bed, which uses extremely low frequency acoustic vibrations designed to help the body relax without noise, rough shaking, or medication.
What caught my attention is that he isn't trying to knock people out.
The idea is to help the nervous system let go of the stress it carries throughout the day so the body can naturally move towards deeper sleep.
He even describes it as a kind of "shower for the nervous system."
I'm not sure where this technology will be ten years from now, but the bigger question is interesting.
Could the future of stress relief be less about adding something to our bodies and more about helping them return to a calmer state?
Really interesting conversation between Chris Kalaboukis and Gilbert Bouchard on thinkfuture. imagine it. build it. live it.
Would you try something like this instead of taking medication for sleep?

Thank you very much, Hadid, for your thoughtful comments and for sharing our story.
You are absolutely right: sleep problems cannot be solved simply by sedating people with medication. Our approach is to help the nervous system release accumulated stress so the body can naturally move toward deeper, more restorative sleep.
I am very proud to have brought this technology to market. And you may not have to wait ten years to see where it goes. WaverBed is already expanding across the hospitality industry, and you may soon have the opportunity to experience it in a hotel. The technology is also available for home use at waverbed.com.
Thank you again for your interest and for this excellent article.

Yes, I would try it if it can help me relax and sleep better without medicine.
